Area Vice President of Operations – Southern California

Pay Range:
$135,000 - $180,000 annually + bonus eligibility 
Territory: Southern California

We’re looking for an Area Vice President of Operations to lead our Southern California locations: a strategic operator who turns plans into results and helps Executive Directors run strong, growing, mission-driven programs.

You’ll work closely with our Division President, Regional President, and Regional VP of Operations to set direction, build budgets, and drive the strategic initiatives that make Bristol stronger for the long term.

On An Average Day You Will: 
(includes, but not limited to) 

Set direction and turn strategy into action

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop operational plans, goals, policies, and procedures
  • Direct Executive Directors in carrying out strategic actions, and bring in the right teams when goals need extra support
  • Lead change initiatives that raise performance across individuals and locations

Drive financial and operational results

  • Collaborate on budgets and financial strategy, and keep locations on track to revenue and expense goals
  • Monitor progress on operational and financial goals, and set clear expectations with Executive Directors
  • Oversee business planning and make sure effective management practices are in place at every level
  • Help improve the administrative, technology, and financial processes that support our locations

Develop and inspire Executive Directors

  • Coach and empower Executive Directors to lead their programs creatively and confidently
  • Remove obstacles between departments so teams respond faster and make better decisions
  • Build a cohesive, high-performing culture across the region

Protect quality

  • Partner with Clinical Operations leadership to make sure every location meets Bristol’s clinical and quality goals
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

What You'll Bring to The Team: 

  • Must have three (3) years of experience in hospice/homecare management.
  • Must demonstrate leadership in program development and operations management
  • Must possess the ability to provide business needs analysis and strategic planning with
    senior staff
  • Must have experience in supervising and managing departments to meet revenue and
    expense budgets
  • Must possess a supervision and management style that empowers Executive Directors
    to creatively lead their programs
  • Must demonstrate proven program/project/resource development and management 
  • Must be results driven, team-oriented and an individual/organizational capacity builder
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, marketing and public relations skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
